We bought this 1966 Suburban in Dec 2020 with the idea of creating a slammed burb on the original chassis. In November 2021 the project took a turn and we decided to do a body swap with a 2007 Yukon Denali. We bought a hail totaled Denali from Copart and proceeded to swap the body. The short term goal was to drive the “finished” project on the Hot Rod Power Tour in June 2022, which we did. The HRPT “long haul” route started in Memphis TN, then on to Nashville TN, Birmingham AL, Pensacola FL and Atlanta GA. On the way home to CO we made a quick stop in New Orleans LA. All in we traveled 4100 uneventful miles after having just completed the project to the state you see here. Over the next several months we will be doing some completion work mostly on the windows, dash and some of the electronics. We are also going to go through the engine replacing the bottom end of the l92 with forged parts so we can put some boost on the top end. We are also going to flatten the body and respray it. Who knows what we will decide to do with it next.
